When disaster strikes, humanitarian support can provide vital help to communities facing the most difficult moments of their lives. Esharelife Foundation is proud to share the impact of its support for the British Red Cross as it continues its response in Venezuela, following the earthquakes that struck the country this summer.
A donation from Esharelife following the disaster has contributed to the British Red Cross’s vital support for affected families, helping people access essential assistance, reconnect with loved ones and begin to recover.
Two earthquakes struck North Central Venezuela on 24 June, causing widespread damage. Homes, shops and more than 400 schools were affected, while access to safe drinking water and other essential services was disrupted. Tens of thousands of people were displaced, leaving communities facing significant challenges as they began to rebuild their lives.
With the support of the British Red Cross, affected communities have been able to access practical assistance during the emergency. Esharelife’s donation has contributed to the British Red Cross’s response, helping 17,776 people receive essential items such as blankets and kitchen sets, while 2,587 people were able to reach loved ones through free calls and Wi-Fi.
Beyond the immediate emergency response, the support is also helping people access the services they need to begin recovering. With Esharelife’s support, 23,199 people have been able to access medical and psychosocial consultations, helping affected communities move forward with greater resilience.

Importantly, Esharelife’s support is helping people in Venezuela today through the British Red Cross’s Disaster Fund. The Fund also enables the British Red Cross to respond to emergencies and humanitarian crises around the world whenever they occur, meaning that support can reach communities facing crisis wherever it is needed.
The work of the British Red Cross forms part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and is guided by its Fundamental Principles, including humanity, neutrality and impartiality. These principles ensure that humanitarian assistance is provided according to need, without discrimination, and that support reaches people affected by crises regardless of their circumstances.
For Gabriel, who lost his sister and nieces while rescuing his wife and son, the support provided following the earthquakes was a lifeline. “It is something you cannot buy with money,” he said.
Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela. We are deeply grateful to the British Red Cross and its teams for their continued care and dedication, and we are honoured that Esharelife Foundation has been able to play a part in supporting this important humanitarian response.
