Esharelife is proud to support the Mayor of Knowsley’s Charity Fund, led by Councillor Ken McGlashan, in aid of two exceptional charities they have chosen to assist for the year 2024-2025: Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
Esharelife was especially pleased to learn that the Mayor will be supporting Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, one of our longstanding beneficiaries. Based in Liverpool it is one of Europe’s largest and most respected children’s hospitals, providing care to over 330,000 children, young people, and families each year. Their vision is to support the building of a healthier future for children and young people. The hospital treats everything from everyday illnesses to the most complex and rare conditions, always with a holistic approach to care. Its dedicated staff focus not only on treating illness but also on helping children feel happy, learn, and thrive during their time at the hospital. With a strong emphasis on innovation, Alder Hey continues to lead the way in paediatric healthcare through its groundbreaking Innovation Hub.
The North West Air Ambulance Charity, meanwhile, delivers urgent, life-saving medical support across 5,500 square miles of the region, serving a population of over 8 million people. Operating every day of the year, its helicopters and HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) vehicles are equipped with expert doctors and paramedics who provide enhanced pre-hospital care in emergencies. Since its founding in 1999, the service has responded to over 24,500 missions, averaging three callouts per day. Each mission represents a critical lifeline for patients in need of immediate, specialist treatment that can make the difference between life and death.
