On the 23rd of February 2026, Esharelife formally launched the Longest Tiramisù Guinness World Record Attempt at the House of Commons, bringing together government officials, diplomats, influencers, and friends of the charity for an evening that marked the beginning of a project uniting Italian culinary heritage with charitable purpose.
The Rt Hon Sir Gavin Williamson CBE MP opened proceedings with a welcome that set the tone for the evening, presenting the record-breaking initiative as a symbol of the strength and generosity of the Italian community in the UK. He spoke about its potential impact on those in need and called on guests to be part of what he described as a historic undertaking.
Esharelife Trustee Ms Zilah Skerritt then guided attendees through the charity’s history, its previous work, and the plans taking shape ahead of the April event. She took time to express sincere gratitude to the many organisers, partners, sponsors, and supporters whose involvement has made the project possible.

Mr Mirko Ricci, organiser of the record attempt, spoke to the deeper significance of the endeavour: London is home to the largest Italian community outside Italy, and the longest tiramisù stood as an expression of solidarity and cultural heritage for Italians living abroad. He shared testimonials of support from a range of prominent figures, including John Terry, Giorgio Chiellini, and Kermit the Frog. Sponsor representatives also addressed the room: Mr Daniele Rutigliano, European Head of Sales at McArthurGlen, and Mr Giorgio Poggio, CEO of BR.IT Customs, each spoke about the importance of their organisations’ contributions to the project.
Prof Maurizio Bragagni OBE closed the speeches on behalf of the Consulate of San Marino, linking San Marino’s commitment to education and social responsibility with the charitable mission at the heart of the longest tiramisù project. He reminded those present that generosity is what holds communities together and drives sustainable futures.

The evening ended on a celebratory note with live performances by The Ed Sheeran Experience and Elisa Cipro of the Italian Radio Society.
The presence of the guests reflected the values central to Esharelife’s mission: relieving poverty and supporting the less fortunate requires solidarity and care. It was an honour to witness the coming together of such diverse people – from artists to politicians – in the name of charity.
